This chamber is for wagon painting and drying of painted surfaces by convective method.
 
Painting mode: the fresh air ventilator takes air from atmosphere and direct to coarse filters, where it is cleaned from dust and then passes through the heat exchanger (heating about 20ºC). The heated air goes through the airpipes into roof space and then through roof fine media filters into the chamber. The fine media filters are cover the entire roof space eliminating air turbulence. The air stream flows evenly top-down at the wagon body. Paint particles are picked up by bottom filters which are situated under grates. Air heating is possible only with ventilation. The heating stops at once when the maintenance work or emergency situation take place. Primary filters are always installed in front of the fresh air ventilator. In this way, the blades and shaft bearings are protected against paint particles and dust in every mode of operation.
Drying mode: the change from painting to drying does not take place immediately . The chamber is switched to expulsion removing dust and paint remains. When drying the suction fan switches off immediately, and the chamber works in a recirculation mode sucking in 10 - 15% fresh air from atmosphere to prevent the excess return air from solvents avoiding explosive mixture build-up. As a result of recirculation the drying mode is very efficient (electrical consumption is lower, fuel consumption is only 40% in comparison with painting mode). During recirculation the air passes through primary filters, floor and bottom filters. In such a way the air is kept clean from dust when the chamber works in drying mode. The use of high-powered fans keeps the air speed almost on the same level like the level during painting. The aggregate unit corresponds to the dimensions of the chamber. Gas burner capacity ensures the necessary modes of operation in the whole range of season temperatures.
